Long Distance Relationships

I REALLY need you right now. I might, no, I DO have a chance with this girl. A girl I have been compeletely head over heels my 11th and 12th grade years of highschool. (Freshman in college now.)
We just had a super long talk over video chat, and I did something I was never able to before with any girl. Make her blush using only my charm.
Only problem is, I decided to go to the other side of California for school.
We are going to talk more about it later today, but as for right now the decision stands that we wait until summer and see if something happens.
So my question is how do you make long distance relationships work?
Also, keep in mind, I'm pretty much as relationship autistic as the average BEACHES AND SHORES anon.

That is certainly do-able... As a eurof** that has been to both places and that knows the actual distance between them, I'd say it could work, depending on how much effort you are willing to put in. Doesn't the US have any means of public transportation for larger distances, or can you only drive there using the highway?

Well, there was a bill (1A?) that was passed that was supposed to build a train track from socal to norcal. So I think I can take a train.
Also there are occasional cheap airline flights.

Don't do long distance. I found the girl of my dreams and we had a LDR and we just ended 2 weeks ago. It was very painful but it was for the best.
LDR's are a huge investment in terms of emotions and time. You'll rarely see this girl and you'll constantly have to convince yourself that she is the one for you when you have never actually had a college experience and tried to go out with other girls. In a year or sooner you'll start wondering what other girls are like and even if you don't cheat, the distance will start to get bigger and bigger

lol they aren't building that train for a while dude, and she in LA or SF because that makes a big difference who is where. Airline seems like a good idea, Southwest does LAX-SFO for $30-40 deals quite often.

I would say that you both should be realistic. LDR's are meant for people who are ready to settle down and the only person they can find that meets their needs lives far away. You are young and so is she. Do you really want you and her to limit yourselves just as you are starting college and waste a year or so before you realize that it isn't that great?

I know it's tough. But imagine that even if it were forever, you'd get to do nothing for the next 4 years except cam and whatnot and maybe see her every few months for a week at a time? I feel your pain though and I know it's hard.
