Today my boyfriend (who is generally a PC gamer) bought a PS3. He bought himself all three God of War games, and bought me Little Big Planet. I'm excited, and want to be able to play games with him. He's currently having a nap, so I decided I'd try my game.
Long story short, I've figured out that my depth perception for 3D vidya is really, REALLY bad. It was frustrating, I couldn't figure out where on the game plane I was, in front of things, behind them, etc. It made playing really not fun at all, despite the game being the cutest goddamn thing I've ever seen.
tl;dr are there any tricks or tips for mastering in-game depth perception?

here is a little training exercise. Find two points of focus; something near and some thing far.your computer monitor and a dot on the wall for instance. without moving your eye or head, switch focus from the background to the foreground repeatedly

Now, I'm just as much of a misogynist as the next guy on this board, but... real-world studies haven proven time and time again that the difference between males and females in hand/eye coordination and depth/spatial perception are entirely experience-based. So if a girl spends as much time playing vidya as a guy she will be as good at spatial perception as the guy.

F**k, Little Big Planet is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I had similar problems with it, OP, but I was attributing it to the fact that I rarely play consoles and I've gotten so used to the mouse/keyboard combo for everything. I didn't play for too long, so I can't really say if it got better or not, but I would assume that practice would help.
My boyfriend is letting me borrow his PSP for a trip I'm taking, and he put Little Big Planet on it for me =3 Never have I been so excited to sit in a car for hours on end, since the person driving won't let anyone else drive her car.

My point still stands man, no new games will come out, that will be unique, everybody will always find flaws in everything, no point in arguing about it.
God of War is a good game in my opinion, while the control might be simple I don't find anything else wrong, except for the out-drawn story, but they gotta make money somehow.
