Is this a complete deal breaker for you? I find anyone who believes in any sort of religion intolerable and unsuitable for a friendship/relationship? I would not go on a date with a 10/10 charming girl if she was religious in the slightest.
Any sort of religious affiliation completely is a deal breaker for me.
you sir, are and idiot
It is a 100% dealbreaker. I agree with OP.
Yeah, you're a f**king twat. There's nothing inherently wrong with being religious.
I don't care, really.
Not unless they're a Jew, or they're from Turkey.
I f**king hate Turkey.
I wouldn't date a religious person but they're still ok for friendship. Pantheistic and atheistic religions are an exception, I don't mind them.
Not really. I actually respect it if they're serious and not insane (i.e. not young earth creationists or whatever). I think it takes more balls to be a good Catholic, for example, than it does to be another atheist who does whatever he wants.
Even if they are crazy young earth creationists I'll take it in stride and just not argue about it with them. You have to accept that some people believe crazy things and those people aren't worthless because of that.
You'll rage but I really do think that this is true.
Yeah, you're a f**king twat. There's nothing inherently wrong with being religious.
1. Holding irrational believes.
2. Believing in fantasy. I might as well call lord of the rings my religion. It's just as real as the bible.
3. 'Moderate' Christians are f**king worse, they have no back bone, don't even f**king read their holy book, yet claim to follow it. "Hurp i dunno what the bible really says lol, lets just be nice to everyone k?, oh science disproved that part...it was a metaphor lol"

Something being inherently wrong and completely unattractive to someone personally are two entirely different things

no, they're not worthless.
But they're f**king dumb.
As long as they keep it personal, don't try to convert me or otherwise tell me I'm going to hell...
let them keep on keepin' on.
I would never consider anyone religious to be a friend. I'd be out right repulsed by the thought of dating them.

Remember when atheists used to take the high road? Men like Russell.
F**k you you're the sort of person who makes people think that atheists are all angsty and arrogant a**holes.
Like it or not there are some very intelligent people out there who are also very religious. Being so dismissive and rude makes you look like a douchebag.
I find that ridiculous.
I respect other people's beliefs.
If i'm trying to have a relationship with someone, and they have a belief i don't agree with, i don't give a f**k as long as their belief doesn't effect my life.
ITT: "RELIGIOUS F**S ARE SO F**KING INTOLERANT!!!!"
Say you're talking to someone and you find out they are religious?

That's pretty gay actually. You wouldn't go out with a hot chick just because they were religious? That's f**king stupid and really gay.
OP you must live a really lonely and bitter life. Religion is just one of millions of idiotic fantasy beliefs people hold, but you choose that one to be the deal breaker. How are you so narrow minded?
you're cockblocking yourself

It sounds like OP is assuming both.

1. Rationality is often just as deadly as religion. Because humans aren't rational. Furthermore you do not say why believing in beings we cannot observe with our senses is irrational. Also, lrn2spell.
2. You correctly say L.O.R is fantasy. However, Religion is not about fantasy. At its core it should be about morals, teachings, and the best ways to live life.
3. Moderate Christians are better than bloody Fundamentalists of any sort, including atheism, who attempt to force themselves onto others and destroy their own credibility.
OP is a massive hypocrite.
Athiesm is just as much a religion as any other.
religion is a deal breaker for serious relationships
i don't have a problem helping or being friendly towards someone that belongs to a religion
however, i don't necessarily apply that to someone who follows a philosophy
i would probably have to stipulate that primarily i avoid christians, muslims, and jews
It sounds like OP is assuming both.

*Not OP*
Rationality is some serious bullsh*t, but reason is not, people seem to get the two confused. Living a life using reason as a guiding principal is usually a pretty good idea. The notion that people are rational is idiotic.
For friendship it's not a deal breaker but it can be hard for me to deal with them especially since I can't stand the hypocrisy, aka picking and choosing which parts of the bible they follow. They don't do anything the bible instructs such as giving their money to the poor, usually they are just as "sinful" as anyone else, and tend to be the ones who think God loves USA and wants us to kill Muslims.
I just remembered this crazy girl I knew once, she told me with a completely straight face that she could see spirit guardian animals around people and that everyone had wings reflecting their personality. She also claimed that she summoned demons that would destroy our city over time. Now, its socially acceptable to scoff at a person saying crazy sh*t like this, but Christians get all upset if you put their equally strange and unprovable beliefs on the same level.
I've never been in love with a religious person so I don't know but I suspect it would be a deal breaker. My boyfriend is hardcore atheist and sometimes his anti-God ranting annoys me (I think he has a personal grudge against god because he's gay, raised catholic in a family that would reject him if they knew) but overall he is still 100% more tolerable than a theist.

This is proof that Athiesm is gay. Only a complete fa**ot would turn down a perfect 10 just because she was religious.
It's only a deal breaker once they start talking about their religion/preaching it. I don't preach my athiesm you don't preach your christianity. However most religious people can't keep their retarded fantasies to themselves.
OP is a massive hypocrite.
Athiesm is just as much a religion as any other.
How the f**k did this bullsh*t start, I really want to know. What moron started acting like the difference between fact and faith was insignificant, and that everyone should just accept his idiocy at face value.
Think about what the f**k you're typing.
Jews are irresistibly hot. Any other active practitioner tends to be a dealbreaker. My current girlfriend is a Jew who I regularly go to synagogue with, simply as a companion "interested in the faith." It really is a cool religion and the people at her synagogue, especially the rabbi, are absolutely shocked that anyone would want to convert. Feels good, man.

Your argument is invalid.

I don't find jews annoying because they tend to joke about their religion like they know it's not real. Lol but then again I've never met a jew irl only on TV... but jewish celebrities all just seem to not give a f**k.

I'm sorry, what's going on in your quote?
in a serious relationship i think religious beliefs would be a deal breaker, I can't see myself allowing my potential future children to be raised with religious beliefs. I see religion as a way for other human beings to have power and control over you.
i don't give a sh*t if my friends are religious though, assuming they aren't extremists or judgmental.
although I am agnostic I feel that I have a strong sense of morals and what is right or wrong. mostly based around not doing things that harm other people.
tl;dr OP trolls as a closed-minded atheist.
Some people get upset. Some people don't.
Life goes on. The thread 404s.
In the end, no one cares.
i wouldn't intentionally cockblock myself or otherwise ignore/be a dick to them, but i honestly can't see being in an intimate relationship with someone very religious
