Cell phone plans around the world

I hear here in North America we get f**ked for cell phone plans hard.
How much is your plan, and what do you get with it. Also your location.
I bet some of you losers are over 100 a month. For 1200 a year you could probably get a pretty sweet hooker.

5euro when ever i need to text a couple of people
lrn to pay as you go

10GBP ($15 ish) a month for 100 any-network any-time minutes, unlimited texts to any network, plus 2 'magic numbers' = unlimited calls to 2 people on the same network as me (has to be 2 certain people though).

Oh plus I got a shiny new touchscreen phone for free when I took that out for 18 months.

$45AUD ($41USD) a month for all the calls I could ever want ever. Don't get charged for incoming calls. Also comes with an internet allowance I've never come close to reaching.

$70 a month, two year contract with Verizon. Free motherf**king Blackberry. Awwww yeah.

20 years ago the average Joe never had a cell phone and they did fine.
You can survive without a cellphone, kids.

Holy sh*t, OP, your pic was my first cell phone.
I WAS THE CHAMPION AT SNAKE.

20 years ago there were phone booths everywhere so you didn't need a cell phone. Most of those are gone now.

IDK what you are talking about. Virgin is 49.99 a month with a 14 dollar phone.
Cricket is 35 a month with a 49 dollar phone.
Unlimited calls

There is still phone booths now, at the malls, gas stations, street corner etc.

Like $80 a month and I live in a reasonably large town and no other companies are any better.
I mean what the f**k.

I pay 10 US dollars a month for that money worth on calls, it works for me since I don't talk that much and just text to set up meetings with friends.
I got this cellphone for free, f**king awesome.
Location: El Salvador.

There is still phone booths now, at the malls, gas stations, street corner etc.

I've talked to my parents about this. While there are still phone booths, there are very few left compared to how many there used to be. They used to have them on stretches of highway between towns. When was the last time you saw that?
My dad estimates about 80% of payphones are gone. My mom figures he's right.

$50 a month for my phone

No phone booths in Ireland any more due to foot and mouth... damn sheep!!!

Not far from the truth!

Text message rates cost more than it costs for nasa to send data too and from the hubble telescope

My phone is a f**ked up ROKR Z6M, likr the pic.

OP here. I pay 15 dollars a month for unlimited evenings and weekends, 200 daytime minutes, 250 text messages, and free caller id and voicemail.
Of course I had to cut a deal with company by threatening to cancel, but I guess thats decent compared to the rest of you ni**ers paying 50 and over a month.

Yeah yeah yeah. But really...ask your parents about it. I am positive you will hear similar things.

my phone turns itself on and off when ever it wants its genius you never know if its on or off or if mom is outside the mall in the mini van trying to get throu'

North America seems to be a big competition to see who can pay for the most useless sh*t possible.
LOL UNLIMITED SURFING FOR $60!
Seriously, what kind of f** are you, that you need to surf the net on your cellphone.

If there are two things I hate...
They are phone companies and apple.

Verizon, it's like $50 a month, but I'm on my family's plan and thus don't pay for sh*t.

the RAZR and the ROKR are different phones

Sure you whitenight.

on a qwERty keyboard the E and the R are next to each other, it was a f**king typo lol

How do YOU browse web?

on a laptop, like normal people

Yeah I was with Verizon and got so sick of that sh*t. Switched to T-mobile and bought my phone outright so now I only pay $80/month for unlimited voice, text and data on an HTC Android MyTouch.

Florida, reporting in. I use MetroPCS.
$65USD/month. No contract. Unlimited calling, texting and SMS to anywhere in the world. Unlimited (albeit a bit slow) internet access.
Coverage area is somewhat limited, but basically if you're within half an hour of a decent-sized city or interstate highway, the entire east coast of the US has coverage, and most major cities nationwide. Outside of coverage areas, I'd pay roaming fees. But seeing that I very very rarely leave the coverage areas, I'm okay with that.
It's CDMA, so using a phone with a sh*tty battery life is hell in heavily-populated areas. In Tampa and Orlando, my batery-use-efficient phone will last 24-48 hours from full charge to completely dead, depending on use. But car chargers solve that problem.
Protip for CDMA phone users: pick a phone that charges from a USB cable, and get an adapter from standard USB A to whatever type of plug your phone has. That way you can charge it up from any computer, and don't need to carry a clunky ac/dc adapter.

60 bucks a month of unlimited everything
talk, text, web, data, ect
plus 150 for HTC G1
but i get sh*t service where i go to college

There is still phone booths now, at the malls, gas stations, street corner etc.

Pay phones are being phased out, all over the place. They're still profitable in the ghetto, though. Too many people rely on them as their primary phone line, no lie.

Anon's mom and dad: Telecommunications experts.

Bitches don't know 'bout my Bell System Divestiture.

I pay the equivalent of $ 0.022 per second of outgoing local calls, $0.03 for Outstation calls, Roaming calls for $0.35 per minute, SMS at $0.04 and Unlimited GPRS/EDGE data for $5 (daily 2gb limit) on top of a monthly $7 fee.
All on an unlocked Nokia E Series.
F**K YEA 3rd world Telephone Networks

DEAR F**KING SH*T YOU 840 A YEAR TO HAVE A F**KING CELL PHONE????

$70 a month, two year contract with Verizon. Free motherf**king Blackberry. Awwww yeah.

Just looking at the phones on blackberry.com they cost 400-500 bucks with no plan/discount stuff. Even using a conservative guess of say $200-$300 for the phone, it averages out to 10-15 dollars a month going to pay them back for the phone.

I maybe do 1 call every other month. Pay like less than 4 bucks a month on average.

A University (San Diego?) did a study on cell phone use and bills.
Their conclusion after wading though thousands of different carriers; most people are paying double because they only use about 1/2 of their minutes.

Hey f**s. I hear here in North America we get f**ked for cell phone plans hard.

I bet some of you losers are over 100 a month. For 1200 a year you could probably get a pretty sweet hooker.

If you take every anon's cellphone away from their puddy sweat hands nothing of value is going to be lost.
Non-business people don't need cell phones. They'll be inconvenience -- sure, but they're not going to lost money or die.

The way I see it, Americans should ditch their landlines, and just use their cell phone as their main line of communication.
If they wanna go Uber Jew mode, have no cell phone and use Skype phone.
Also, cancel the cable TV. Nothing of value will be lost from not watching TV, I promise.

India here
have a prepaid number as they are the norm.
use a sms coupon each month that gives me 350 sms at INR 35(75 cents). for call credit i use a 100INR(2.2USD) coupon. It gives me 100 minutes. this typically lasts me 29ish days.
rinse repeat.

UK here. I get a free Blackberry Bold 9000 with my job, inc. personal calls, sms and data.
I have no idea what tarrif I am on, but I spent a lot of time calling the States last month, and Amsterdam and the bill came to something like 400 GBP.

3 years ago i bought a prepaid cell with 50 minutes. at this rate i can use this phone for the next 17 years before i run out of minutes.

20 euro a month meteor and I can talk or text anyone for as long as I want for that month

This for me.
I was in Canada for a while last year and seriously, why the hell do you need to have credit on your phone to receive calls?
I had a phone, but no credit to receive calls about jobs, and no job to buy the credit for the phone.
Seems like people in North America get rode hard by phone companies.
