What's it like to quit smoking weed?

Ive been smoking weed heavily pretty much every day for the past few years.
Now I decided to stop as my exams are coming up and neuropharmacology is no joke.
Anyone had any experience with stopping smoking after such a long time of abuse?
Inb4 smoking weed is stupid lolol

Well I didn't see that coming.

why do you want to stop?
Isnt it fun anymore or cant you be that concentrated if you are on weed?

I stopped cold turkey after a couple of years of everyday smokin. All depends on the person, i didnt intent to quit but just kinda bored out of it(also fckin anxiety).
You will feel slightly down for a week or two, some apettite and sleep problems may occur, thats all.

It affects memory in the long term.
Ive survived 3 years at uni smoking myself into oblivion every day, but it just feels like the responsible thing to do.
It still is fun though, no question.

I just keep it carmello, no more than 3 times a week.

You must be f**kan retarded to get addicted to weed. its near impossible.
Smoke moar.

LOL please tell me what you are studying.
I think it is you who is retarded.

Also why quit??
Study all day, after you finish studying and youre sure you maxed out the day smoke a joint for rewards!

I had nightmares or messed up dreams every night for a week or so.
After that I felt so much sharper during the day.
And I saved a load of cash.

>affects memory
>long term
that's some bullsh*t yo, it can fry your memory. But after a few weeks of laying off the green your memory is restored back to normal.
I can't find a link to the study, but they had a control group take a memory test and a group of heavy smokers take a memory test.
The control group blew them out of the water, but when they had the stoner group quit for two weeks everyone took the test again and they scored the same.

That burned out feeling every morning seems to really take the edge of the first few hours of work.

if you smoke a lot, then suddenly stop your body will put you through a little depression. If I were you I would stop After your exams.

LOL please re read what I wrote.
The point I was making was that long term use of weed leads to temporary impairment of short term and working memory.
Come on give me some credit, I am studying neuropharmacology of course I have many studies concerning weed and memory etc.
Thats the reason I want to quit before exams !!!

i got lots of paranoia after smoking daily for 4 years..
i needed one year to quit completly after to do so...
smoked every week first although everytime it was sh*t with lots of paranoia, feeling unsecure with time i smoked less than only once a month, this year i qwuitted completly, didn't smoke since last september
biggest problem were my "friends" who didn't understand my decision always asked me if i want to smoke with them. it's hard to say no everytime
i'm also writing exams this year and my grades and overall school sh*t are much better after i quitted.
sometime i'd like to smoke some and i think i will do after my exams are over but i will never start to smoke everyday like in the past... it's just a waste of lifetime

>abuse
OMG LOL U KANT ABUSE WEED ONLY DRUGS THAT ARENT WEED LOL WEED ERRY DAY FOR BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER WEED FOR CLOTHES WEED FOR WATER WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

yeah quitting weed is not hard although you'll miss it you'll not get withdrawal or anything.
The tobacco you might have been smoking with it will be an absolute bitch c**t to kick though. Want my adviceice as one who has gone before, quit the weed for the exams, see how you feel about going back to it after, but keep smoking f**s until the exam results have come in.
Quitting f**s is easier if you never properly quit, you say to yourself that you're not going to smoke but if you have no more than one pack every 3 months or so for when you are feeling really stressed (not including just having a f** craving) then you can go by without building up a nicotine addiction level again and as time goes on just increase the amount of time you are allowed to go before buying another packet. after a while you'll be able to take or leave f**s and technically everything should be cool.

I hate how every stoner seems to actually believe this.

typical web

I thought I'd chime in since I just recently went through pretty much the exact same thing. I had been smoking daily for roughly 3 years, and decided to take a long break until 4/20 (heh). This was back in late January, and the first week was really tough. I really missed smoking, and it was pretty much all consuming. After that first week though, I started to not really miss it at all. Best of all, I started dreaming again (which I never did when I smoked). Now that 4/20 is coming up, I'm looking forward to smoking, but I don't think I'll ever go back to smoking daily. I really enjoy being sober. :)
Best of luck.

Thanks man. Guess its a case of distracting myself with other things the 1st week.
Might even get back into running again to take my mind off it.

I like the sound of the saving cash incentive.
I must spend thousands a year.
Bit of a waste I suppose.

Stupid pathetic stoners. You all need to get of your pedestal, get a job and stop smoking drugs every day.

A problem I had after quitting was sleeping. I mean, for a few days it was hard as f**k. Then I was right.
Good exercise helps too, especially if you've been a couch potato. You'll get high from the endorphins, and also sleep well.

I've been smoking everyday for that last 3-5 years. I ran out of money until friday, so i might have to quit weed too! (temporarily). Seriously though, weed turns me into such a lazy, sleepy person, i need to stop it for a lil bit.

Yeah probably half of my money goes up in smoke... But i can't sleep at all if I don't smoke.

Weed is good, but it seems to make me socially retarted when Im stoned.
