Go to the ER. You don't know for sure which way it's twisted, and simply untwisting it probably won't solve the problem anyway, as the vessels are damaged and probably need repair.

Maybe you're just a badass but . . . if you're able to post and write coherently it's probably not testicular torsion. My dad's works in an ER, he's seen coal miners from the hills, people who are f**king tough as nails, balled up on the floor screaming and crying like babies with testicular torsion.

not necessarily! might not be a twisted testicle. this happened to me once, so I went to the doctors. the doctor was going to do some surgery and my mother started making the biggest f**king fuss about how she wanted a specialist. in comes the urologist, tells me my testicle isn't twisted, its some sh*t part of your anatomy pretending to be a testicle and twisting itself every which way. it eventually went away by itself, surgery avoided.

Hey this happened to me when i was 15 (21 now). I awoke at like 4am with an excruciating pain in my left teste. I thought i had squashed it between my legs in my sleep so I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep hoping the pain would soon reside. It didn't so about half an hour later I went and hopped in the shower almost crying from the pain. I began feeling my balls and realised there was somewhat of a lump behind/underneath the left nut. I compared it to my other ball and realised that the seminal cords or whatever they are called were twisted.
ReplyDeleteI tried rotating the teste inside my ballsack and eventually untwisted it. I can't remember but it had either been twisted 540 or 360 degrees around. I twisted it about 180 and then it basically untwisted itself. When it untwisted the lump (knotted cords) disappeared and the pain subsided within minutes. I ran my thumb and forefinger along the cords and compared it to my other testical to make sure it was back to normal. It felt a little swollen from the ordeal but definitely felt like one smooth tube running straight up and down.
After my shower i googled my symptoms and realised it was testicular torsion a not so uncommon occurrence that happens to teens, often while sleeping.
Any residual pain was completely gone after about an hour so i did not follow this up with a doctor. Its years later and my left ball feels and looks fine, however, once every couple of months the same ball will sometimes twist itself 180. When this happens i can often untwist it right away with very minimal issues however sometimes i cant tell which way it is twisted. If you twist it in the wrong direction you will know right away you balls will say "ouch, wrong way go back". If you want to make this process easier hop in a hot shower or bath so the ballsack loosens up.
So after writing all that I can tell you it is a fairly easy thing to remedy yourself (atleast in my case), however i would recommend seeing a doctor if this happens to you as you can never be to safe when it comes to your family jewels. I havent had my semen tested yet so i dont know if this has had any permenant affects on my fertility. Be careful if this is left unattended the affected teste can become infertile and it may even require amputation. Mine was twisted no longer than 3 hours (not sure how long i was asleep like that)
