The longest you've stayed awake

hey anonymous
whats the longest youve ever stayed awake? i did 60 hours at one of those big-ass intel lans. that sh*t f**ks you up. ive havent done any drugs, but i imagine that it is similar. i experienced lower inhibitions, which was f**king weird. my ability to think coherently wasnt affected, just i couldnt stop talking and sh*t.
so im curious, what are your experiences with sleep deprivation?

Longest was 96 hours in one go, for sh*ts. By the end of it the photos on the wall were moving and I'd frequently see bright flashes of light, shortly followed by falling over.

Close to 30 was my max. When I was younger I needed to get an ear-tube procedure done, and during that time I couldn't tilt my head to either angle, including laying down/back to sleep. I love and need my sleep.

around 50 hours for me
felt tired as f**k
really lightheaded
not great

36 hours, prob'ly.

I don't think I've ever gone beyond 36 hours or so.
Feels . . . weird. It's a roller-coaster for me. I use caffeine and nicotine a lot when staying up and that's enough to ward off feelings of sleepiness. I'm just really emotional. Small-ass things have a huge effect on my mood for better or worse.
Visually it's similar to being stoned. Things look different but it's hard to describe how they look different. Sort of surreal, colors are brighter, the distinctions between objects seem exaggerated (like the physical boundaries between, say, individual leaves on a tree).

20-22. I'm completely worthless without sleep.

I stayed up for about 3 days once and 2 days multiple times. I don't enjoy it. It is not really like drugs, most drugs are a lot more fun. You could liken it to a much more subdued dyphenhydramine experience but that drug sucks ass.

48 hours. Doing assignment. Never handed it. F**K THAT SH*T.

probably about 50
walking around on the second night in the dark on a trip to the bathroom, I thought the garbage can was a big, freaky demon dog that had snuck into my house somehow
then once I got to the bathroom, I saw little sprites flashing in and out of existence in the mirror in the corner of my eye
it was fun

about 50-55.

op here. at the lan, i prolly consumed 5000 calories and a sh*tton of caffeine. i cant stand moster/red bull, so it was mostly 5-hour energy. i ended up jittery as a mofo and crashing from a ridiculous processed sugar high. im planning on doing this again soon and i wonder if anyone has any techniques for staying up that dont suck so bad/ risk heart failure...

A good 3 1/2 days after my father killed my mother and himself.

when I was a kid I was one energetic bastard. The later I went to sleep, the earlier I woke up. One hour of sleep? great! When I became a young teen and it was edgy and cool to stay up late, I would go 2-3 days at a stretch no problem. My later teens were filled with drugs, I'm pretty sure there's a stretch in there where I didn't sleep for over a week.
when I was in college, I would sleep for about 2-5 hours a night, and take a nap on weekends.
nowadays I need a minimum of 9 hours to face the day.

hot tea. lots of it.

72 hours but I couldn't string a sentence together or balance worth sh*t.

That's not funny my mother and father died that way.

caffeine and nicotine
Not too much of either or you'll actually get more tired (ime).
But a big cup of strong coffee every 4 hours and a cigarette every half hour-to-an-hour is the sweet spot.
Don't worry about getting addicted, you can use nicotine in this way just fine.

hot tea. lots of it.

I find that tea relaxes me, even caffeinated.

48-50ish. Feels kind of good sometimes. Feels like death other times.

I find that tea relaxes me, even caffeinated.

Weird, I drink a lot of coffee and tea always f**ks my sh*t up if I drink enough.
Then again when I drink tea I usually drink like 10 cups.
I like it better than coffee but maybe I'm imagining it. It does seem to give me a more focused sort of feeling while caffeine makes me more jittery.
Probably just imagining it though.

I fall asleep after 1.5 days regardless of desire to stay awake. I'll involuntarily pass out standing up if it comes to that.

It's funny you should say that, actually. I drink plenty of black brewed coffee throughout the day, and it keeps me pretty sharp, but once I get home I hit that tea and it just melts me into my chair. Maybe it's all in our heads?

I'm fairly sure Tea doesn't contain half as much caffeine as coffee does.

Something around 40hours. Nothing really happens to me, I can think straight and dont have any drug like effects or anything similar. Its just tiring.

Better part of the week, do this every other month but I have a small arsenal of wakefulness promoting pills

I'm fairly sure Tea doesn't contain half as much caffeine as coffee does.

Roughly half, depending on the individual brew. Granted, tea can have vastly less regardless.

The caffeine from tea has a gradual release into your system and fall while coffee is more of a spike.

junior year in high school (5years ago): 90 hours

i was a total zombie by hour 30 or so, i have no clue how i did it, and probably wouldnt be able to again today :|

I pulled 72 hours, sh*t was not cash. I drank sodas smoked like crazy, and ate tons of ramen (poor not weabo) The first 48 hours wasn't that tough, but around 60+ things got strange couldn't function for sh*t, or remember half of what I was doing. I remember sitting there staring at the computer screen then looking down and seeing food on my desk, couldn't remember making the food, go to eat it and its cold like it was there for hours. Once i decided to sleep I stood up wabbled to the bed tried to sit, then woke up half on half off the bed fully clothed shoes and everything. I wish I could do it again, just to remember how it feels.

50 hours. at the end i suddenly felt really awake and apparently said "oh my god, I BEAT IT. I BEAT TIREDNESS, I AM AWAKE AND ALIVE" then collapsed and slept for 18 hours.

72 hours.
Which included a seizure.
And it was all just me not being able to sleep due to anxiety.
And then the when I finally crashed, I went to see a psych and got told I had an anxiety disorder and a weird type of insomnia that, when combined, make my life a living hell.

48.
I had a big box of fruitloops and 2 litres of V.
By the end of it i stood up, fell down and bit my lip on the desk, then realised i was in a conversation with my mum and didnt know what was going on. I also had massive headaches from the sugar. Wasnt very fun at all. I also watched 2 seasons of Fresh prince of bel air
